Beyond Hearing Aids: Building a Community of Care and Advocacy at Hears Hearing & Hearables

hearing health service and advocacy. Audiologist with patient creating connection

Dear Friends of Hears to U and Hearing & Hearables,

I hope this message finds you well. At Hears Hearing & Hearables, we’re proud to serve as more than just a hearing clinic. We’re a community-focused team with one goal in mind: helping you hear and feel better through individualized care and support.

When I first started in this field, I realized that simply selling a product wasn’t fulfilling for me—or helpful to the people I was working with. My career began with aural rehabilitation for children and adults who were deaf and continued into helping those with cochlear implants. Over time, my work shifted to supporting those with hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear-related conditions caused by wax, noise, trauma, or genetics. What has remained constant is my commitment to trusting hearing health service. That is, and always will be, our top priority.

Here’s What Sets Our Hearing Health Service Apart:

It’s Not About Selling a Product!

Yes, we sell hearing aids and accessories, but our approach is different. There are countless hearing aids on the market, and truthfully, no one product is universally perfect. Your needs are unique. Your preferences are unique. And your hearing solution should be too. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all recommendations. Instead, we focus on understanding you—your lifestyle, your challenges, and your goals. That’s why we take the time to guide you through the process. Offering you options and empowering you to choose what works best for you.

Think about it like this: would you ever buy a car without test-driving it first? Probably not! You want to know how it handles, whether it suits your needs, and if it’s comfortable. Hearing aids deserve the same level of consideration, and that’s why we encourage you to “test drive” them with our support before making a decision.

Advocacy is Important!

At Hears Hearing & Hearables, we are proud to be advocates for individuals with hearing disabilities, championing their rights and accessibility needs. We actively support initiatives like the implementation of hearing loops in public spaces. Ensuring that people with hearing loss can fully participate in their communities. We also work tirelessly to promote equitable access to hearing care, advocating for better insurance coverage and policies that make hearing health service affordable and inclusive. Trying to stop big business from monetizing from those with hearing loss and pushing “their” product as the best for all.

Beyond our clinic, we collaborate with organizations and policymakers to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility and the protections afforded by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Your voice matters, and we’re here to amplify it. Ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to hear, connect, and thrive.

We Value Relationships Over Transactions

Whether you’re a long-time patient at our clinic, Hears to U in Minnesota, or someone who bought a charger from our online store with clinical support, our mission is the same: to ensure you feel supported every step of the way. We are not in this to simply sell a product and move on — we are here to offer guidance, care, and a partnership in your hearing journey.

We also understand the value of your time and ours. Providing exceptional hearing health service comes with costs, but we’re transparent about those costs because we believe you deserve clarity. Shipping fees or service charges may not always be ideal. However, they reflect the real-world expenses of running a dedicated, customer-focused business.

Why Our Hearing Health Service Work Matters:

Unfortunately, the hearing care industry often feels dominated by big businesses that prioritize profit over people. That’s not us. We’re audiologists and hearing care providers who entered this field to help. We’ve spent years perfecting our craft, learning, and connecting with others to create a network of trusted professionals across the country who share our commitment to individualized care.

By choosing Hears to U or Hearing & Hearables, you’re not just investing in better hearing—you’re supporting a model of care that prioritizes personalized attention over cookie-cutter solutions. You’re ensuring that genuine, compassionate providers can continue to be there for you and others like you.

Thank You for Your Trust

If you’ve worked with me, Malia, or any of our team members, you know that we’re passionate about what we do. We’re honored to have your trust. We will continue to share updates about how we’re growing and evolving to better meet your needs.

We encourage you to explore our newsletters, blogs, and reviews. There you’ll see the care and effort we put into helping our patients and customers. It’s not just about products—it’s about improving your quality of life. You will be able to see and determine for yourself that we are not like other businesses online.  We are unique and we expect you to be unique.

Thank you for choosing us, for supporting our mission, and for being part of the Hears to U Hearing & Hearables community. Together, we can continue to create a world where personalized hearing care thrives.

Warm regards,

Kim, Malia and the Team at Hears Hearing & Hearables
