We get asked about accessory compatibility all the time. It’s no wonder, hearing aid brands and their vertical chains can be confusing! Did you know that GN makes several different hearing aid brands? Although ReSound is likely the most wellknown, there are many other brands under the GN umbrella. Brands such as Jabra, Lively, Beltone, Audigy, and even Cochlear are all made by GN.
That means you might have a hearing aid with a different name on it, but behind the scenes, it’s built on the same platform as a ReSound device. Most of the hearing aids are rebranded and therefore compatible with the same accessories. The tricky part is figuring out which accessories will work, because it depends on whether your hearing aids are Auracast-ready or not.
Here’s the simple breakdown!
The Easy Rule of Thumb
- Not Auracast Ready → Use the “classic” ReSound accessories: TV Streamer 2, Multi Mic, Micro Mic, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3
- Auracast Ready (newer models like ReSound Nexia, Vivia, some Jabra and Beltone models) → Use the new Auracast accessories: TV Streamer+ and Multi Mic+
Quick Compatibility Table
Brand / Label | If NOT Auracast Ready → Works With | If Auracast Ready → Works With |
---|---|---|
ReSound | Multi Mic, Micro Mic, TV Streamer 2, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3 | TV Streamer+, Multi Mic+ |
Jabra | Multi Mic, Micro Mic, TV Streamer 2, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3 | TV Streamer+, Multi Mic+ |
Lively (now Jabra Enhance Select) | Multi Mic, Micro Mic, TV Streamer 2, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3 | TV Streamer+, Multi Mic+ (if/when Auracast models available) |
Beltone | Multi Mic, Micro Mic, TV Streamer 2, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3 | TV Streamer+, Multi Mic+ |
Audigy (private-label ReSound) | Multi Mic, Micro Mic, TV Streamer 2, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3 | TV Streamer+, Multi Mic+ |
Cochlear | Uses Cochlear wireless accessories; when paired with a ReSound aid, the ReSound side follows the same rule as above | Same as left, depending on the ReSound model |
Bottom Line
If you wear ReSound, Jabra, Lively, Beltone, Audigy, or Cochlear (with a ReSound partner aid):
- Older / non-Auracast aids → stick with TV Streamer 2, Multi Mic, Micro Mic, Phone Clip+, Remote Control 3
- Auracast-ready aids → go with TV Streamer+ and Multi Mic+
So don’t worry! If you’ve switched brands within the GN family, your accessories will usually follow right along. The only real change is if you upgrade into the new Auracast technology, which requires the newer accessories.
